Founded in 1978 by Chris McMinn, C.S. McMinn & Associates began as a general contracting company based in Healdsburg, California. Over the years, Chris managed numerous high-profile projects, including the Sonoma Mission Inn and the remodeling of the Flamingo Hotel, solidifying the company’s reputation for excellence. In the 1990s, Chris expanded into Owner’s Representative Construction Management and small landlord-tenant habitability inspections, leading to the company’s rebranding as "McMinn & Associates."
In 2005, Chris invited Zephan to join the company as the Owner’s Rep Construction Manager for the complete remodel of the McDonald Mansion in Santa Rosa, a 14,000-square-foot historical Victorian landmark. Zephan became an integral part of the team, working as a project manager until 2012.
During this time, Chris’s expert testimony practice continued to grow, while Zephan gained experience with other major construction companies and startups across Northern California. In 2015, Zephan began taking on his own expert testimony cases. Now, after a decade of working with other companies, Zephan has rejoined Chris to form McMinn Construction Group, LLC—a full-service general construction and construction litigation services firm.
Now, after a decade spent building that expertise independently, Zephan has rejoined Chris to form McMinn Construction Group, LLC — a full-service general construction and construction litigation services firm. With that same decade of legal experience behind him, Zephan has also launched The McMinn Group (TMG), a dedicated legal practice handling construction disputes, mediation, real estate transactions, and business counsel. Together, MCG and TMG bring the McMinn family's construction expertise and legal skill together under one roof.
